Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

We had a great long weekend. Wed was my parents 10th anniversary. They celebrated by renewing their vows, renting a limo and enjoying an early lunch. I am very excited for their happiness.

Next was Thanksgiving at our house. This was Rob and my first big holiday as a married couple and we celebrated by having dinner at our house. Everything turned out sooo wonderful! I've posted more photos on a new photo site which you can access here.

Friday we drove up to Allan and Amy's to be more conveniently located for Ed and Tara's wedding. We had a great time!

Trying to focus a bit more on what I'm eating. I have been really bad since just before the wedding. I need to drop at LEAST 5 pounds in the next few weeks. We are trying to start a family (yes, this soon) and I would like to keep the total weight under 200. That means my weight needs to be 160 or less. So far so good on Monday...

Oh, and Rob has updated our website http://www.mirowicz.com/ a bit and started a photo stream at
http://picasaweb.google.com/mirowicz. We will be uploading photos from the past few years as well as from the wedding disposable cameras and any photos going forward. Enjoy!

What a great weekend. Finally a weekend revolving around Rob and me. Friday, we went to the movies. You'll laugh, but we saw Bee Movie. I loved it. It was fun and humorous. Rob even said he enjoyed it. Who woudl have thought?
Saturday I worked 9 hours and Rob had peace and quiet at home. My mom dropped off my girlfriend's wedding gift for me. This may sound crazy, but I'm very excited to have received a DYSON for a wedding gift. I may never use it - Rob does the cleaning - but it will be the last vacuum I purchase for at least a decade! Of course, I used it on our area rug and then went to empty it....oops! pushed the button and the bottom falls out. Rob shoo'd me away and cleaned up my mess...as usual. Of course, it is the only upright not designed for 'animals'. We don't have animals yet but they are on the list of things "I want". (Which happens to be a very long list).

Next we did our T-day shopping. I figured late on Saturday night would be the best time and it was. No lines, no fuss, no muss. We had fun planning our first holiday dinner at our house. I'm really looking forward to it!

Sunday was even better. One of the attorneys we used to work with was having their Grand Opening at their vineyard in Loudoun County Virginia. We started with Bluemont Vineyard. That really set the bar for the day. The service was great, the view breathtaking and the wine was delicious! So glad I was able to drink! We bought 4 bottles to support our friend.

Next, we headed over to Corcoran Vineyards. We went there simply to buy a bottle and send to Rob's friend with the thank you note. We really had a great time with the owner there. It was pretty crowded at first but it cleared out with perfect timing for the 3 of us just to chat away for a bit. They had a grat Malbec paired with truffles and a sweet wine that when you plop a lime in it WOW! We walked with 4 bottles from here as well.

Next stop was Loudoun Valley Vineyard. This one was a bit of a dissapointment. All of the wines were way sweet - even for me. We did find two whites that we could enjoy so we bought one of each.
Finally, I've had enough wine. We headed to Leesburg for a nice dinner of burgers and a corn and crab chowder that was so so yummy!
We need more weekends like this.

I'm back! Happily Married too!

I had started to write about the weekend and the events but I have since deleted it all. There was a lot of drama and to write it is to relive it and I just DON'T want to go there. I started to include how ill-mannered some of the wives-to-be were but realize it won't change so why dwell on it. Rob and I are together and in love and that is what matters most. Those that are closest to me were there and know all the stories, good and bad.
Some of the best highlights:
  • Rob and I are married (that was the obvious highlight);
  • I finally had a chance to spend some time with and meet in person two women who have become so close to me over the past few years (thank you Jamie and Michelle). Those girls know way way way too much about me and the totally understand me;
  • My mom finally had a daughter do it right. She could stand there as the proud mother that she is and brag to all her friends at work. That is what mom's really want isn't it;
  • My cousin and I were able to move past a big hiccup in our relationship. We have grabbed the opportunity before us and our bond has grown by leaps and bounds (love you Chris);
  • My friendships with each of bridesmaids has grown stronger and new friendships have developed between a few of them through all of the planning. I had 6 women stand with me (well, one was through pix and txt msg) . They each have such a warm and special place in my heart. They make all that other ickiness fade away.
For any of my Tracker friends that still pop in to check on me (thank you), here is a shot of the 3 ORIGINAL Glamz!

As you can see, I am slightly shorter than the 5'10" but they both had heels on! That is my story and I'm sticking to it.
Seeing as I was the Bride, I didn't really have much opportunity to take photos. If you are really interested, the photographer posted them at www.collages.net. Username: Michele and Robert Password 17214.
